Invest in Yourself

Individuals will invest time and money in things that are important to them. People who enjoy television pay $50.00+ a month to sit down and watch their favorite show for an hour a day. Other individuals enjoy going out drinking and will pay bar tabs that easily exceed over $100.00 and spend 4-6 hours out on the town. Funny thing is when it comes to their health and well being individuals immediately have a “budget” for fitness.

That leads me to ask a few revealing question. How many times have you made claims that you wanted to get in better shape? Lose a few pounds? Lift heavier? Perform better in daily activities you enjoy? Ultimately, how much is your health and well being worth to you and what are you willing to invest in yourself?

I know what are you thinking, “I’ve invested in a regular gym membership and I didn’t get the results I wanted.” or “I’ve tried so many miracle supplements that have never worked.”, “I don’t have time for the gym.” and lastly, but the one we hear most often is, “CrossFit is too expensive.”  Considering the points, I made above about cost of cable and bar tabs, CrossFit or fitness for that matter isn’t too expensive, you just aren’t willing to invest in yourself or could possibly be making the wrong investment.

What do you mean wrong investment? If you’ve gone to a traditional gym, well, yes, you paid for a $50.00 membership that allows you access to gym equipment. However,  you may or may not understand how utilize correctly, or implement the exercises into a program to get the results you want. Those miracle supplements you took, actually include a statement  that states “For the best results combine with a regular exercise regime.”, so without doing the work, your results will be minimal. Both seem like a  great deal at first but in all actuality, utilizing a regular gym requires a lot more investment than you previously thought and those supplements require you to do more than take them. It goes way beyond just making a purchase and taking a supplement.

Real quick, ask yourselves what does that $50.00 gym membership include?  Obviously you can see how the supplements alone are a bad investment if you refuse to workout, so let’s just focus on a traditional gym being the wrong investment for you. Does that inexpensive gym membership you are paying for include any of the following?

1) Performance based training program(daily)

2)Diet counseling

3)1 on 1 training time (during class)

4)SpecialzedEquipment use

5)Result tracking

6) Mobility assessments and corrections

7) Workout buddies who will encourage you

Most likely you will answer no to that. Finding a good program, understanding diet regimes, getting instruction on proper technique, result tracking, specialized equipment use and everything else listed requires an additional investment on your behalf. That investment is either your personal time to learn and research the correct and most effective way to do things or paying additional money on top of the $50.00 per month for a personal training(Avg. cost $30.00 per 30 minute session). So, now your $50.00 monthly gym membership fee is now costing you more time, or an additional $120 per month (1 personal training session per week).

If the point has not sunk in yet, compared to a regular gym membership for $50.00 for month, which seems inexpensive, the harsh reality it is not. It does not factor in the cost of your time to learn what you need to know to put together an effective program. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bashing on traditional gyms. They are a tool that can be utilized by the right individuals who know what they are doing or have the time to invest to learn what to do and not just getting a program out of the trendiest magazine on the shelf.

So overall, investing in a good CrossFit program is much cheaper in the long term, more effective and efficient for those that do not have the time to research a program or may be on a tight budget that would not allow them to afford personal training. You walk in the door and everyday the workout is programmed to help you get results. Diet counseling is only a question away and you have the satisfaction of knowing that someone is keeping an eye out to ensure you are using proper technique and identifying any possible mobility restrictions that may lead to injury.

On the big scheme of themes $160.00(Our price ranges from $110.00 per month – $160.00) looks expensive, but in reality it is not. If you come to the gym 4x per week it breaks down to $10.00 a class which is less than grabbing lunch at a fast food joint. As listed above, we offer several things traditional gyms do not. If you are willing to work hard and dedicate time to becoming the best version of you, it is critical you do it correctly. and we are here to help you. Remember, whenever you do make an investment, it’s important for you to see a return on that or what we call “results”. If you follow the program, take our recommendations you will start to see your investment pay off in as quick as 30 days. Remember your goals, health, confidence and time are worth more than $50.00.  Make a smart investment, you wouldn’t put your money into an account that yields 0.0% interest so stop investing in gym memberships, programs and supplements alone that aren’t helping you reach your fitness goals. If you aren’t willing to take the time to invest in yourself, just remember you’ll never see a return.
